Vampire Scarin’ Steak

Servings 4 people


  • 1 1/2 pounds London Broil or use beef flank steak
  • 5 cloves garlic pressed
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


  • DO-AHEAD TIP: Marinate beef overnight or for at least 5 hours (see recipe).
  • Rub London broil (or flank steak) with garlic, pepper, salt and crushed red
  • pepper flakes then place it in a large zipper-topped plastic bag; pour cider vinegar and olive oil on top.
  • Seal bag and turn to coat well; refrigerate overnight or for at least 5 hours, turning occasionally if possible.
  • Preheat outdoor grill to MEDIUM-HIGH.
  • Remove steak from marinade, discarding marinade and bag; grill beef for 4 to 7 minutes per side or until the desired level of doneness is achieved.


SERVING SUGGESTION: Steamed broccoli spears and baked sweet potatoes (“bake” in your slow
cooker or on the grill to keep the kitchen cool).
