In a large bowl, pour the boiling water over the TVP and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
In a large skillet, sauté the onions until translucent. Add the garlic salt, pepper, chili sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, mustard and tomato sauce. Stir and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add the TVP to saucepan and stir together. Simmer on medium low heat for another 20 to 30 minutes. Serve over toast or on buns.
